My second-ever gig with my band was at the Roxbury Hotel, a lovely little pub in Glebe. We decided to do a stripped down, acoustic gig with extra slide guitar, and brushes instead of drumsticks. It was really cool to be able to play my songs in an acoustic setting - it gave the songs a different bent, and some of them sounded surprisingly great without amps! We also decided to pop a few covers into the setlist, including Foster The People's 'Pumped Up Kicks' and 'Times Like These' by the Foo Fighters. My favourite thing? It gave me a chance to play my acoustic guitar at a gig finally! This guitar has been with me for years now but it's honestly invaluable. It's second hand and made by a Japanese company that doesn't make guitars anymore - plus this one was made in 1984 so it's older than me!
