After a week in Chicago we flew to St Louis, Missouri. That was one big temperature change! We got out of the airport and started taking off coats, jumpers and socks, changing into a t-shirt and shorts, it was seriously hot. At least it wasn't humid! St Louis was a lovely little city, although the Mississippi was flooding so there were a couple of riverside streets that were off limits. We picked up a car in St Louis and drove to Nashville, taking in the scenery as we went.
On night one in Nashville I played a show at the Hotel Indigo. It was the most amazing, beautiful old building that used to be a bank and is now a nightspot with singer songwriters lining up to play their originals. I was lucky to get the most lovely reception from the audience - perfect for my first Nashville gig, I felt very welcome, that's for sure! Southern hospitality was on show in a big way.
