Black Tie Gown

One of my 101 in 1001 goals was to buy a fabulous gown & wear it to a fabulous event. Well, cross that one off the list! Recently I was invited to the reopening of the first class dining room at the Queen’s Club in the heart of Sydney city. The Queen’s Club is one of Sydney oldest ladies-only clubs & is situated right upstairs from Hermès & across the road from David Jones (perfect location right?). Their dining room had been under construction for months & was finally reopened with a black tie dinner. A perfect opportunity to find a perfect gown right? As soon as I’d seen the Phase Eight gowns in David Jones a while back I knew it would be my first stop  if I ever needed one. After trying on quite a few (most just for fun to be honest!) I settled on this one. The black & white colour palette is so classic & versatile, it’s unbelievably comfortable & fits like a glove! I couldn’t say no!

I knew that with my new red hair blow dried to perfection & this showstopper dress I didn’t want my accessories to compete. So I kept it simple with just my watch, simple gold studs, nude patent pumps & a beaded black clutch that I found on holiday in Phuket, Thailand.
